Executive Functioning Skills
We all need skills so that tasks can be completed and goals accomplished. These skills are developed through experiences as a young child and continue to develop as a person grows up.
For those who are gifted, especially in areas of giftedness, these skills never develop or develop minimally as they are not needed. If you or a loved one has ADHD, the skills develop at a later time than their peers. In addition, these skills could need more time to place in a person’s life. When either of these occurs the result could be frustration for the person and those around the person. Sometimes this happens right away while other times this is seen later in that person’s life.
